1890 Grille | Lounge | Marketplace is owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Trinh Thai and Jason Emerson. The couple met at the University of Houston, where they both majored in Marketing and Sales. In 2011, over a dinner conversation with close friends, Trinh and Jason came up with the idea of a restaurant focused on excellence in service while offering the highest quality food and beverage at the most reasonable price. Over the next few months and many hours of market research, they decided to focus on a place to celebrate special occasions in one of the most historic towns in North America, Granbury, Texas. The restaurant began with its signature 1890 House Blend- a custom, award-winning seasoning created by Jason's father, Buddy Emerson. After keeping the seasoning a family secret for 30 years, the Thai-Emersons decided to share these special flavors with a broader audience, opening 1890 Grille and Lounge in 2012, with the Marketplace opening a few years later, and quickly expanding around DFW. Since inception, the Emersons have been devoted to consistent excellence and superior customer service. They are honored to be a local favorite for all of life's celebrations and milestones, and they look forward to seeing you soon.
